At CAIXA, you open your account using the Web, without any bureaucracy and hassle. Just fill in the registration form and become a client of one of the largest and most secure financial institutions in Brazil.
Using your CAIXA e-account, you may invest your money in Mortgage Notes, Private Retirement Plans, Savings Accounts, or even make wire transfers to any person, whether or not they have an account with CAIXA.
In order to comply with the Brazilian Central Bank?s (BACEN) regulations, no later than 30 consecutive days after you open your CAIXA e-account, you must remit a copy of the identification document you used to open your e-account with CAIXA or of your passport.
Should you send a full copy (i.e., front and back) of the identification document; of copies of pages 1, 2 and 3 of your passport.
Do not forget to inform the Branch identification number and number of your e-Account.
This document must be preferably e-mailed to: caixainternacional@caixa.gov.br. Upon receipt of the copy of the identification document by CAIXA International, your e-Account will be considered operational.

In the event CAIXA International does not receive the document within the established timeframe of 30 days, your account will be blocked until the document is received, and you will be unable to effect transfers or acquire savings account products.
Attention: Cash remittances in the "for the CAIXA account" or the "Wire Transfer" modes will only be available after the receipt of a copy of the identification document presented to open an e-Account at CAIXA International.
When you return to Brazil, you must re-register your CAIXA e-Account, which will be converted into a conventional current account, and allow you to conduct your banking operations freely. To do this, you must present the necessary documents: Taxpayer Identification Card (CPF), Personal ID, Proof of Income and Proof of Residence, at the CAIXA branch you chose when opening your account.
Requirements:
Be a Brazilian (born in Brazil or naturalized);
Over 18 years of age;
Reside outside Brazil;
Taxpayer Identification Card (CPF) Number;
Registered Voter Number (If you do not have a Voter?s Card, leave this space blank). Having a CAIXA e-Account is the main requirement for you to acquire the products and services available on the CAIXA International site, always using a credit card issued to you from abroad.
Total investments made during a single month may not exceed to R$ 10,000.00, including the CPMF (Provisional Contribution on Financial Transactions);
You may transfer up to R$ 30,000.00 per month in Wire Transfers, for credit to a CAIXA account or to be withdrawn at a CAIXA branch by a beneficiary. Each transfer is limited to R$ 10,000.00.
There will be a charge of 2.55% over the total amount of the transaction on all transfer or savings account acquisitions made. The amounts transferred for the acquisition of saving accounts products will be inclusive of the 0.38% CPMF contribution.
The amounts transferred or invested will be charged against your credit card.

ID card issued by the State Public Security Secretariats in Brazil.
National Driving License (the version with a photo), providing it is valid
Work Permit issued by the public offices or by professional associations, providing they bear public credit recognized by Decree.
Military ID, issued by the Brazilian Armed Forces or similar forces.
Original copy of Marriage Certificate (when presented together with the ID card).
Proof of registration of the cardholder with the Income Tax Service
Proof of residence (one of the following documents):
Utility (water, electricity and telephone) bills for the address informed, no more than two months old, and in the name of the account holder
Valid lease agreement, in name of the account holder, together with one utility (water, electricity and telephone) bill
